How To Get Your Facebook Page Verified

Getting your Facebook business page verified is a nice-to-have in the crowded online marketplace. A verified Page or profile means that Facebook HQ has confirmed that your page is authentic. There are two types of badges that a Page can obtain; a blue or gray badge. A blue badge means that Facebook confirmed that a Page is authentic for a public figure, media company, or brand. A gray badge represents that Facebook has authenticated a Page for a business or organization. Here’s how you can verify your Facebook Page: assuming you’re the admin of your Page, the Page has a profile picture, cover photo, and is eligible, then you’ll see the option to verify in your Page’s Settings. In order to verify your Page, you can use either your business’ publicly listed phone number or a business document (phone bill)

  1. Click on Settings at the top of your Page.
  2. From General, click Page Verification.
  3. Click Verify this Page, then click Get Started.
  4. Enter a publicly listed phone number for your business, your country and language.
  5. Click Call Me Now to allow Facebook to call you with a verification code.
  6. Enter the 4-digit verification code and click Continue.

However, there is another option to verify your Page. You can verify your page with a business document instead. Follow steps 1-4 above and click Verify this Page with documents instead at the bottom left of the window that appears, then upload a picture of an official document showing your business’ name and address. Upon receiving your verification code or business document, Facebook will review the info and confirm it matches public records and then Facebook will send you a notification or email about your verification status within a few business days. You’re not required to verify your Page but it is certainly better to have a verified page than not.

Also if your Page represents a celebrity, public figure, sports team, media or entertainment, the Page may be eligible for a blue badge. To see if your Page is eligible for a blue verification badge, you’ll need to complete this form.
